Ms. Giglio, Director of Specifications, is responsible for coordination of specification consulting services to A/E firms, product manufacturers, and industry organizations.

Her work includes developing and maintaining master specification libraries, product libraries, and overseeing the preparation of all written construction documents to ensure quality and administrative coordination as well as coordination with graphic construction documents. She also performs product research and participates in quality control, project management, and document coordination for enhancing the integrity of project manuals and documents while achieving reduction in errors and omissions.

As a Certified Construction Specifier, she has prepared project specifications for construction projects across the US, in various project delivery methods, and many building types.  While the majority of her project work is for building projects, she is also involved in preparing specifications for landscape/civil and urban design projects.

In developing master specification libraries, Ms. Giglio, works with clients to establish priorities, preferences and standards to be conveyed to the users. Understanding and incorporating client needs is critical to providing quality services. Numerous recent projects have been registered with USGBC utilizing more various LEED Rating Systems including New Construction; Commercial Interiors; Core and Shell, and the pilot Neighborhood Development.  For projects that are not attempting certification, Ms Giglio believes that sustainable choices should be employed in all projects and incorporates appropriate practices into each project.

Based on her interest in education Ms Giglio participates in occasional course instruction at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte, College of Architecture and has provided technical writing and editing for the 11th edition of Architectural Graphic Standards, She is currently coauthoring The Architect’s Field Guide:  An Architectural Graphic Standards Reference Book (2009) and will be senior executive editor for Architectural Graphic Standards for Residential Construction (2010).  Ms. Giglio has lectured on MasterFormat 2004 and the coordination of drawings and specifications to architects, engineers, and owners.
